History
Mission and Visions
History aims to enable students to approach past and current events in an impartial and empathetic manner, using a variety of perspectives; develop historical skills and generic skills for further studies and life situations; understand the characteristics and values of their own culture, and appreciate the shared humanity and common problems of the world’s many peoples; and nurture students to become citizens who have global perspectives, knowledge and sense of responsibility.
Curriculum Highlights
As an indispensable part of the PSHE KLA, the History curriculum (S1-S3) is closely related to Strand 2 (time, continuity and change) and 3 (culture and heritage) of junior secondary PSHE KLA. The study at senior secondary level also builds on the skills of chronological thinking, historical comprehension, empathy, enquiry and communication that students should have developed at junior secondary level. It enables students to further develop an enquiring mind, an attitude of respect for and tolerance of different opinions, and a sense of balanced judgment and objectivity.
