SPCA Visit
15-01-2026Exciting Day at the SPCA!
On January 15, a group of 10 enthusiastic students from the Apex Team of the Gifted Education Committee, along with 2 teachers, had an incredible visit to the SPCA!
We kicked off our day with a fascinating talk on animal rights and protection, where we learned some surprising fun facts! Did you know that some animals bite themselves when they feel stressed? This behavior is their way of coping with anxiety, highlighting how important it is for us to care for their mental well-being!
The speaker also reminded us to think twice before making any decisions about adopting animals. It is crucial to understand that bringing an animal into your home is a lifelong commitment. If neglected or abandoned, these animals’ physical and mental health can suffer immensely.
After the enlightening discussion, we explored the adoption center, getting up close and personal with adorable cats, playful dogs, cute hamsters, fluffy rabbits, and even a gecko!
This experience was not only educational but also heartwarming. The students truly enjoyed every moment!
